Set in the beautiful surroundings of the centuries-old Market Town of Sudbury, Suffolk nestled in the Stour Valley, The Lady Elizabeth is an historic, Grade II listed working pub dating back to the 15th Century right in the heart of the town.
Overlooking the market square, this characterful venue has been beautifully furnished and offers a friendly, sociable eating and drinking venue for locals and visitors alike. With high quality traditional pub food on offer as well as real ales and a fully stocked bar, the ‘Lady Liz’ is family and dog-friendly too!
The high quality and reasonably priced food menu comprises locally sourced fresh ingredients cooked on the premises with a la carte options and Specials appearing regularly.

If you stay in one of the 7 beautiful boutique en-suite rooms, you couldn’t be better positioned to explore the many local attractions as, not only is the Lady Liz within a 5-minute walk of Gainsborough’s House Museum and Gallery (recently re-opened after a £4million + gallery extension), it also has a wealth of heritage buildings, churches and destinations to explore, including the regenerated St Peter’s Cultural Venue visible from the pub (re-opening September 2023); the stunning Water Meadows complete with Highland Cattle grazing freely throughout the late Spring/Summer and the Grade II listed working Quay Theatre which attracts high-quality acts from all over the UK.
